Terrible handling

Postby Young Gun » January 26th, 2012, 8:39 pm

Hey so my jeep is handling terrible. Down right dangerous. It has been this way for some time now i just didnt realize how bad it is until i drove a buddies jeep today. I have a 4 inch lift. Track bars. Dropped pitman arm. Stock front tie rod and drag link. I have done my toe in several times and it is perfect. The jeep is all over the road. dives right and left constantly. Could it just be from the factory drag link and tie rod?? Any advise? could it be something between the stearing wheel and the stearing box???
Help

I would check your track bar bushings and check for any hollowing out of the bolt holes (very common). Check for any side to side movement of the tie rod and drag links.

Terrible handling

Go through and torque all of your steering parts while checking for slop.....you'll probably find something that's loose, most likely track bar if it's diving on you
2013 Jeep JKUR on 35" Kanati Trail Hogs, 2.5" Rough Country coil lift
2006 Yamaha Rhino 660 on 28" BajaCross, with winch.
2008 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7 CTD leveled with 20's and 35's.
Some boom toys here and there too.

On my Jeep I got really bad death wobble when I had both the track bar and drop pitman installed. I went back to the factory pitman and it fixed my problems.

found the rear track bar bracket had some play in it so i beefed up the hardware and it seams to have helped! Still doesn't drive great but is a help!
