2006 tj wrangler.

Ok so I am going to try to explain this the best I can, but I recently noticed that my jeep is running like its in 4wd. The engine runs louder and sounds like I'm in 4H but I'm not I have to shift gears earlier and gas mileage has decreased. Everything is running ok but I don't know what it could be. The engine before ran quieter and didn't sound like a diesel. Anyone have any suggestions on what it could be.

sounds like a crankshaft positioning sensor issue. when mine was going out it had a very eratic idle and gas mileage was way down. Loss of power is due to the lack of timing control.

I think the sensor is under 50. It's located on the high side of the outer ring of the bell housing on the driver side.

It's pretty easy to do it your self, but G&G will figure it out for sure and fix it up.

We can diagnose it for $89 or less. That's cheaper than throwing parts at it that might or might not solve the problem. It doesn't sound like a crank sensor to me, but I don't really know what it sounds like. It's pretty difficult to explain a symptom like that, it needs to be driven. I assume no check engine light?
