'02 jeep wrangler, startup failure

Hi everyone

I've been having some issues with my jeep. It doesn't happen often, but has been occurring more and more.

When I go to start the car, the electrics turn on, but when i fully turn the key it wont start. no crank-over or anything, and the electrics turn off. this happened yesterday and my "check gauges" light came on.

When I finally get it going, it will die when I come to a full stop, and wont run when I try to restart it.

Any ideas or suggestions. I'm thinking the fuel filter or pump.
