WHEEL BACKSPACING

WHEEL BACKSPACING

Postby 81BigBrett » March 21st, 2014, 9:49 am

I was thinking of getting some steelies for my jeep. Does anybody know what backspacing on the rim that I will need, or any recommendations on a good backspacing. I plan on getting a 15 x 8 rims. I believe i have 15 x 7's on there now.

4.5" or 4" works out great on most TJs and leaves plenty of room to clear links during flex with bigger tires. Get 4.5" if you plan on running 12.5-13.5" wide tires and 4 if you plan on running wider.

I run 3.75" and clear 12.5 wide tires. At full stuff and the wheels turned to full lock, they rub my Anti-rock a bit.

I ended up getting the 4.5" backspacing. I was hoping to have a wider stance so I guess that I should have gone with the 4" backspacing. I'm just going to get some wheel spacers. I gotta get a battery first though.
