I have a 1.25" body lift on my YJ. It's hardly noticeable and have me clearance I needed without associated driveline angle issues.
I see no drawbacks and it was easy to install.

2013 Jeep JKUR on 35" Kanati Trail Hogs, 2.5" Rough Country coil lift 2006 Yamaha Rhino 660 on 28" BajaCross, with winch. 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7 CTD leveled with 20's and 35's. Some boom toys here and there too.
I don't like body lifts, but 1" isn't that bad and is sometimes necessary to clear aftermarket parts. The radiator will have to be repositioned on your LJ and shiting mechanism dealt with, but most kits come with the parts to do it.
I say if you absolutely need it, do it. But if not, don't.
I say do it. There are benefits to it for sure. More pros than cons IMO .. I'd do the daystar. They are complete replacements for ur stock mounts with the lift too. Most BL just add to ur existing stock mounts. The daystar also improve the ride I read.
Unless you need the tire clearance I would avoid it. You have that gigantic skid/ cross-member, so unless you plan on replacing that, you wont see any clearance gains. Your factory shift linkage will work but will be tough to shift, you might want to invest in a Novak shifter. Also you will need to re-drill you fan shroud bolts to lower it or do a motor mount lift, or go electric fans.

It really depends with your purpose. But if I were in your shoe I would surely install a body lift kit. The reason well... Just for a change.
