My 97 TJ keeps dying when putting it in gear. Just sitting there its fine. But sometimes when u put it reverse or drive it will die. Than u have to rev it up a lil and pop it in gear to make it stay on and drive. Than when u get to a light it trys to die sometimes. So am taking it that it has to do something when under load at idle. The crazy part is it doesn't do it everytime... there are time when it runs perfect...

Sounds like a sensor or a fuel supply issue. Is it storing any codes? Richard has a code reader and a gauge to check pressure at the fuel rail.

Yeah, I'd pull the IAC first and clean it with some carb cleaner and see if that helps.

You need to use it more....... :thefinger:
