gearing questions

I agree. I run 4:56 in my YJ and I wouldn't hesitate to go to a 35 but I do have a 4.0 with a 5 speed.

either the 4.56 or 4.88 should be ok.

couple questions to narrow the decision down.

planned tire size?

transmission? 3sp auto, 4sp auto, 5sp stick?

engine size? 4.0 6 cyl, 2.5l 4 cyl?

anywhere from 4.10-4.88 can and work well with 33-35" tires. 4.88 would probably be too low of a gear with an auto trans, with a 4cyl engine 4.88 is probably the best bet.

with the 5spd, 4.56 or 4.88 would be fine

What gear ratio are you running currently?

With a stick i would go with 4:56 unless you want to go bigger later. IMO 4:88s on 35s and a 5spd are too low if you want to use the freeway. You can but your gonna turn some high rpms and kill your miliage.
