Steering stabilizer relocation

Hey I would really like to run the Rock Krawler HD tie rod, I would also like to relocate the steering stabilizer but the RK tie rod is 1 5/8" dia. Every relocation kit/ bracket only fits 1 3/8", Any ideas or know of any that fit the bigger tie rods? If I cant get a kit for the RK tie rod I have also been looking at the Poly tie rod and poly steering stabilizer relocation kit.

I found a 1 5/8" tie rod clamp finally. Now just to decide on Poly's tie rod or Rock Krawler's.

My mistake. You are set on the RK item.

Buy it and a bug fucking hammer.... As you'll need it after most wheeling trips.

Good luck.

I did see the reviews on the poly said awesome for easy adjustment an the RK was a pain. I have a little wait time till I'm putting it on. But the reviews are definately changing my mind. Pm me, I woul like to talk about the adjustment differences if you didn't mind.

Let's talk about that here, so everyone can benefit (unless you have a reason for being private about it?)... not only will you get my opinion, but others can do their best to confuse you as well.

I have not run the RK unit, but I know it isn't adjustable on the rig... the Poly item is. Often times, when you wheel, you'll have alignment issues afterwards and you'll often have the steering wheel crooked. The drag link adjusts the later problem (also a good item is the Poly bit, for the same reasons), the tie rod the former. It is a very simple adjustment, but the RK item requires you to drop the tie rod to do the adjustment. Not a huge deal, but much nicer to do it on the rig. If you go the RK item, you'll have to break that TRE out of it's home each time.... and that can be a bunch of times in one shot, as you likely will adjust, measure, and adjust. So... with the RK piece, buy a BFH.

I believe the RK unit requires you buy TREs as well... so add that to the cost. Poly's comes with them, but you might want an extra as they are a hard item to find in the field. The RK TREs are stock ones that can be found anywhere. Poly and the Internet people state their TREs are beefier... I have not confirmed.

If you go RK make sure the TRE's you buy are very straight. I have a $280 hunk of aluminum sitting in my garage that is ruined from a very slightly crooked TRE. Gonna go Poly or build my own out of DOM or something when I get time and money. F#$% Aluminum for this application. It galls way too easy.

Ah ha. Brad That was awesome information and makes total sense. I like the idea of the poly also because they have the steering stabilizer kit also.

Rob good to know. That sealed the deal for second time over. Thanks for the input.

I love RK stuff, but like the poly tie rod better than the RK. The ability to adjust without removing the TREs is huge.

I ran the Jeepswag relocation kit on my JK before I went to hydro-assist, and it worked very well.

I am have the JKS trackbar reinforcement bracket front and rear as well. Many of the SS kits show having to drill holes into the oem mount. Think I will have any trouble since I have the upgraded bracket?

I think you are fine... but call around and see what they say. If one will work, they all will.

Thanks for the info about the Poly tie rod. After some research and watching a few youtube videos on the ease of adjustment it is the one I am going with.
