going to Hurculine the jeep tub.....

Going to Hurculine the jeep tub this weekend. Anyone have any tips or tricks or possibly a reason why not to use hurculiner?

Its on sale right now at Pep Boys for $65.00. We did by little brothers CJ7 last yr. Its holding up great. It was easy also. Im doing the inside of my Suburban very soon.

How well does it do at blocking heat? I am thinking about doing it as well.

I have the duplicolor version and it work/ looks great but doesn't block heat for shit. Look at lizard skin.

There are a lot of DIY bed liners out there now, plus sound deadning and heat blocker, what I have read lizard skin looks good, google and compare, just dont go for price...

I'll take pictures and describe what I'm doing in them.
As far as I know the prep work is pretty easy. Take out the seats,Tuffy lock box and what ever you have bolted to the tub. Wipe down with Xylol (I have read NOT to use anything that is alcohol based because it leaves residue), tape off anything you don't want lined,scuff surface (not all the way to the steal, just enough for it to bond), wipe down once more with Xylol, roll the first coat, let it sit for 4-5 hours than put down the second coat and remove tape. With in 24 hours it sould be fully cured. Also I have read not to put it on if it's more than 95 degrees out.
I'll keep everyone informed on how it went.

Did you get it lined? I ordered some monstaliner. Should be waiting for me Friday when I get home from vacation. Tub is already stripped. I just need some MEK.

Let me know how that goes please Looking at using it on my jeepster, from axles to body. The body might get the Predator green color after a coat of there MAGNAPOXY primer. Would really like to know how even it goes on with just a roller and brush.

Luckily I had a chance to put some Monsta Liner down on the 51 CJ3 project.

If you are going to install Monsta liner, read the directions well. If using the Chassis saver, remember it will add a day to your project. Apply chassis saver, then wait 24 hours, then apply first coat of monsta liner, wait approx 4 hours and add the second coat.

Lessons learned the hard way. Order enough rollers for BOTH applications of Monsta liner. The owner of the CJ only had 3 rollers. We used up 2 with the first coat and then instead of cleaning a roller with MEK like I suggested, reused one roller from the 1 st coat application. And little pieces of hardened Monsta liner came out of the roller and ended up on the final coat. Made sharp HARD projections come out that had to be trimmed after it dried. Also wear gloves and a mask or respirator, it's nasty stuff. And remember to pull your masking tape right after your finish the second application. If you let it dry on the tape, you will have a hell of a time removing it!

if u are going to line your own bed can I suggest a product called Raptor liner, u spray it on
