Zak's Yota......This thing is cool and practical

Postby Zak.Taylor » February 17th, 2012, 9:12 am

I got this 92 4Runner. I've had it on the trail a couple times. I just put the 35" boggers off my samurai on it. It's a cool rig and I like it. Sure stays toasty warm inside!

I put a 2" ball joint spacer lift and new 2.5" Old Man Emu coils on the back of it. Did some trimming and stuffed the 35's under it. I get some rubbing at full lock with compression with 35/16/15 Boggers on it, but its tolerable. Going to try some 35x12.50's on it after the weekend. Thanks to Alex from 4WP and AJ99 from on here.

Anyway, here's a pic of the Yota. It'll be headed to the snow on Sunday. Hope everbody can make it!!!

Future plans are to mount the Warn XD9000i winch that I have, then possibly Desert Tan paint, then Straight Axle conversion with 5.29 gears eventually. Stinking deuce and a halfs take up all my rig building time, tools and money.

Zak's Yota......This thing is cool and practical

I'm planning to be finished with it tomorrow, aside from paint. It came along well. I tried a set of softer springs to help keep the rear end on the ground when going over bumps. Looking forward to the test drive tomorrow. Next is a 5-ton 6x6 on 53's with 1,000 ft/lbs of torque

Also.....got the winch mounted on the 4runner today....used a harbor freight winch plate, some angle iron and modification of the stock bumper. Peace of mind is good.

So, since gorman, I got some used 35's from AJ and alex from 4wp, a roof rack from Mikey, new steel wheels, added the winch I got from a guy named Josh (with my home-made mount), removed the rear bumper, modified the trailer hitch to hug the tailgate (and function as a step to access the roof rack) and built a snorkel out of PVC to prevent drowning it again like I did on rancheria road. It's come a long way in a few months. Keep in mind, I still have less than 3500 bucks in it, including the 1800 I paid for it. So here's a couple pics with the new mods.

Those were off the samurai. I needed them for snow.
