Santa in the brown truck arrived!

Postby Desert Dog » December 19th, 2010, 9:34 pm

Santa in the big brown truck arrived yesterday. Trailready 17" beadlocks with Rock rings and 39.5x13.5 Irok Bias plys. Balanced with 10 oz of airsoft BBs and 2 oz of antifreeze. I still have to do a little sheet metal trimming in the back and move my rear axle back some. should be ready for the trail before New Year.

Santa in the brown truck arrived!

Postby casaintsfan » December 19th, 2010, 9:46 pm

I'm hoping Santa in the big brown truck stops by poly performance and picks me up a new tie rod before new years and their steering correction w/ drag link the second week of the new year. He's gotta show me some love since I'm working all this over time making sure he's getting all those letters.

Oh yeah, looking good desert dog!

Where did you get the bead locks and how much were they? I am wanting to get some 17''X9's with 8 on 6.5 lugs. Do they lock both beads or just the outside? Tires sure do look good on that rig :Thumb:

Got em straight from TrailReady. They are the standard outside locking, the exact same wheels that the top finishers in the KOH used HD17s. I talked to a lot of competition guys, and most of them recommended these (even the guys not running them :lol3: ), and unlike other brands, the guys I have seen run these have never lost a bolt or had one loosen. They are also the ONLY 100% USA made aluminum beadlock wheel. Kind of pricy though at almost $350 a pop, but if you want something that kicks ass on the trail, yet is safe on the street, you gotta pay.

Abendx, thanks for the BB and antifreeze balancing info, I should have done that with my 37s - works great!

Those wheels make me horny.... I need to murder my future children over a set of those. Hold on......

Okay, back. My wheels have never looked so glossy before tonight. Thanks for the inspiration DD. Looking good!

You will love the wheels and the BB/AF trick is the bomb!

Coilover or Hemi next ?

On a side note.... go with the RR rear corners. I can't believe I am pumping that up.... but a comp cut is what you should be doing next back there.
