Zombie Resurrection 2

Postby EJ21 » November 27th, 2012, 10:06 am

So Zak has a way of finding these jeeps that have sat for a while and fixes them enough to turn over a profit. I couldn't resist an automatic so we worked a deal on Zombie 1 and I started a build all over again. Stripped it down to bare bones and with the help of Zak and Chris Wheeler started the resurrection on Red.

Completed:

Warn front bumper
Rear bumper w/tire carrier
Cobra 29 "American Flag" edition
Riddler Diff covers
8.8 rear end swap
4.88 Yukon gears
Autometer guages
Warn 9.5 cti
Family Roll bar
Tuffy center console
Pro Comp lights
Softopper top
SOA w/ high steer
37's on beadlocks
Locker in front
Relocate shock mounts
Procomp rear shocks
Grant steering wheel
Stereo system
Iggee seat covers
Windshield wipers fixed
HEI distributor swap
Full new brakes
Ton of little cosmetic odds and ends

Purchased but not installed yet:

Howell fuel injection conversion
Rock hard sliders
Viair 480c
5150 shocks

Coming up next:

Selectable locker for the rear
Chromoly shafts
Wheel clearance

Been a busy few weeks and at this point just happy to have it on the road. It is my daily driver for awhile. Ready to finally have a little fun in it and looking forward to its maiden off-road voyage.

Thanks Becka. That's the plan once I measure for wheel clearance. I AM hoping to offset and order these:

For corners I suggest getting aluminums fram savvy or other companies. Its well proven that they take abuse and are tons lighter. The lighter the better, savvy doesnt advertise precut yj corners but give gerald a call, im pretty sure he will have em cut for same price.

Seriously stay light where you can, jeep will perform much better and with less breakage.

Got the sliders on and went out last Saturday. Had a great time and got a little muddy but no damage.

Anyone know about Howell fuel injection conversion that is willing to come over and sit and talk me through it for some refreshments and grub?

That's good and muddy. She ran pretty good. Seemed to flex quite well from where my point of view.

Yep, unfortunately. It is actually form a mid 90s XJ so it doesn't have the axle disconnect. I know it won't last but it's what I got until April unless can find a good deal on an alternative.

Hey all, been away for a while due to moving and work. Update on the jeep, added some G2 Axles, TJ flares and got everything I had pending finally mounted. Few days later, the motor went out. Looking for a replacement. Got a lead on a few options. Hopefully be up and running again soon.

Purchased a 1995 Grand Cherokee as a donor for the 5.2L and 46rh trans. Picked up a new aluminum radiator with fan, advance adapters motor mounts and a PSC steering box. Already have a trans coolet and JB conversions supet short SYE. Will start swapping everything out in about 3 weeks. Looking forward to getting the jeep going again.

It was way outside my comfort zone when I did mine but piece by piece, it came together. Still bugs to fix but it's drivable and wheelable most of the time

My jeep is stripped and ready for swap. Working on the donor this week. Hope to get it running in a few weeks. Lots to do still. Would like to add some new shock hoops while it's all bare.
