I bet you could get another spindle in there... ask Brett what he thinks.

Already re welded the existing spindle in twice. I think its just too weak around there for the weight and how much that carrier moves when driving.

Oh well... it was a thought. Now you gotta see if Ruth will buy you a new one.

A to Z fab sells a heavy duty spindle for $60 or $70. You have to make sure and preheat before welding and insulate after so they cool slow.

i think y'all are missing what GJ is saying
the spindle is not the week point, the bumper is.
find channel or heavy wall rectangular tubing and beef that sucker up
but, i did like the locking hub thing

No... the real thing you are all missing here is that GJ wants Ruth to buy him a new bumper.

I bought there heavy duty spindle before, was kinda small, ended up going with a Rock Hard spindle assy, big difference, if you look at Roberts(sandbuggy) tire carrier, he used a dana 44 spindle and locking hub assy, can lock it in any position

Cracker is right I don't think my bumper is up to the weight of the tire carrier any more. I was looking at it and it will take more work than I am able to do out here to bring it up to par. Plus I am hoping to get a tent trailer in the future so I need a bumper with hitch receiver that is tow rated. So a new bumper will kill two birds.
No Brad, I have been saving my own money for this
I was actually saving for tub armor but it will have to go to the bumper, armor will have to wait.

why not just reinforce the bumper??? Much cheaper, and that way you can still get the tub armor?
