time to rethink the truggy

i'm seriously thinking about cutting some tubing and removing
the rest of the body.
i'll miss the heater in the winter, but the body is getting so banged up.
it wouldn't hurt to loose all that weight sitting way up high either.
after goatfest, i'm gonna look in to it

after this weekends flop, i'm going back to the drawing board

From what I've heard about FToys you will be looking at $2,000 +/- to completely ditch the body.
I'd keep a windshield and the heater if i could.

Try to get the suspension more dialed and more seat time imo

yea, lower, not wider unless i could get $2000 for both my
complete axles to start over.
2 14 bolt housings, chromo shafts, rcv's, lockers, gears, new rim centers

I know why you want to get rid of the body.... but see what happens after a run or two without doors.... maybe just a little more trimming will suffice.

It's not much more than the doors that take constant abuse, right? (body)

Problem really is that we will never get the visibility a real buggy has, so why not keep the benefits of having a *uggy. Heat, interior width and gizmos, storage, etc..

believe me, i love my heater jan., feb., and march, i'm just trying to get more out of it
on MY budget (more visibility, lower CG, ect...)

adding some more tubing in strategic locations would help what's left of the body.
after goatfest, i'll need to remove & replace some bent tubing. i have some small changes in mind that will help

i've always said it was too tall

Instead of dumping the axles, why not try a set of spacers? 2" total could make a difference. Just thinking.

Not saying that going lower won't help you on other trails. But when a rock gives out on the low side like that one did, you are pretty much screwed unless you can turn into it with throttle. At a 223:1 ratio hanging on or clutch is about all you can do

Lowering the ride height will accomplish a lot. If you're going to cut away the body eventually anyway, then why worry about beating it up more? Wheel the crap out of it for a few seasons and have some fun before you tear it apart again.

Heaters.... even seat heaters. Goatfest was pretty warm from the inside of my rig.
