Hay guys, I found your club on youtube searching for video and info on the Hungry Valley Park.

Im trying to get an idea of what Hungry Valley has to offer for the up coming race. Can you post up some pics of any cool canyons or obstacles they may include in our course, or links to trail reports.

This will be the second race in the dirt riot WEROCK series.

Awesome! I go to as many werock events as I can.

I assume you are doing the obstacles in the Aliklik off-road area.

Other than that, the trails are all pretty easy. Pronghorn has some off-camber sections and a big off-camber exposed rock climb at the top. But I have done it in 2wd before.

We also run a little trail called Henry's but crack that is very narrow and has a steep climb out at the end that requires a 5 point turn to get into position.

95% of the trails in Hungry valley can be done by a Jeep in 2wd. Thats why this club does a "noob" run there every year. But the Aliklik obstacles give the more built rigs something to play on next to the campsite. You guys really are not going to find anything there to challenge you.

Hit up my youtube channel and you will find several Hungry Valley vids: http://www.youtube.com/user/6613197192?feature=mhee

The race is March 17-18 according to the current schedule. March 17th is my wedding anniversary, so I can't race that weekend since we have reservations at the coast. If the race was the next weekend we'd be racing.

What class are you racing in? We're racing 4600 class. Would be good to meet you (finally) and hang out.

We plan on being there to watch the action and maybe play around a bit, it will be good to get more focus on Gorman. Perhaps the orv/state will put up more obstacles and terrain as they have some of the others if they see a large influx of funds as people go up there.

They had plans to do this, as well as develop some more difficult trails in the area. The park coordinator is an avid Jeeper himself and really sees the benefit of getting clubs runs and events to happen at the park. But, being that these parks are the only State-run programs actually making money, the wise Gov. Brown has decided to raid all of their funds so they can operate at a loss like everything else in the state. So no matter how much money they make, they will have no money to make improvements any time soon.

The Race looks like its now the 17th not the 24th.
That butt crack trail looks fun I hope they include that. Not hard but would be hard to do fast.
How far is that from man mad rock garden?

Im planning to continue racing the 4400 class. I hope they make some short course style jumps.
I got the motor faster last weekend, plan to do more shock tuning this weekend and install the new race radio.

90% sure Ill be racing.

For Immediate Release:

Gorman, Dirt Riot Endurance Racing

March 16-17, 2012 Race Postponed

Due to an internal conflict between a local property owner, the California State Parks and the Hungry Valley SVRA the Dirt Riot Race scheduled for March 16th-17th 2012 has been postponed at this late hour.

Much to the distress of the W.E.ROCK Events and Dirt Riot Endurance Racing staff, we have been forced to re-schedule the March 17th race to a potential date of April 28th-29th 2012. We are working with the staff at Hungry Valley SVRA to ensure the re-scheduled date will work to keep the event at Hungry Valley. Dirt Riot is looking into other possible event sites as well.

More information on the exact location will be forth coming shortly. We sincerely apologize for any inconveniences that this situation might create and look forward to your continuing support.[/quote]
