As in where your ass resides when you are behind the wheel.

I know we have a big time hatred for Corbeau.

Right now, on the table, look to be the Mastercraft Rubicon seat and the PRP Highback Premier seat.

Pros, cons, others that I should consider?

Corbeau is OK, as long as you stay away from the reclining or adjustable models that are made with plastic where metal should be. They are bargain seats, and the bolsters don't last long.

Mastercraft is the chit if you want an adjustable seat, but they sit low and are better for talller people.

PRP is very good quality for a decent price, but no adjustability.

Twisted Stitch is flat-out bad ass, but expensive and takes a long time to ship.

Whatever seat you get, make sure you get the high-back model. Even though standard seats look like they have a headrest, it only comes up to the back of the neck (most people don't realize this until its too late)

Oh, and make sure your seats support 5-point harnesses. Something tells me you are gonna need them ;)

Whatcha talking about Willis?

I am guessing a fixed seat makes sense, as there will be cross bars behind me.... so limited enjoyment from the recline.

Nice info on Mastercraft.... fucking midget haters!

I rode bitch in a guys 4-door in Moab that had TS seats. They were comfy as hell, sat high, and look better than any other seats IMO. I think they were the "Vortex" model. He custom ordered the color/fabric/and added lumber I think, so it took him a couple months to get them shipped. They attach to the factory seat frame (if you order for a JK) so you will still have slide adjustment and keep your factory sensor wiring. Well worth it IMO.

I have sat in several buggies and Richards KOH car with PRPs, and they are top quality, but seem a little narrow in the chest for my tastes. Im sure you can get models with a less restrictive upper, but I haven't sat in one. When I put in the order for Richard's PRP seats, they shipped fast for a custom order. Smaller framed people seem to really love the PRPs.

Ohh, remember that what is great for a buggy, is not great for a Jeep. DO NOT get seats with really high bolsters. You will not be climbing through the window to get in the seat like a buggy, rather, you will be getting in through the door which will make seats with high bolsters suck and the fabric will get worn away FAST from sliding across it while getting in/out of the Jeep.

Also, vinyl is stronger and easier to clean than the fabric, but will burn the fuck out of your back on the trail and create a NASTY sweat-fest. I preffer to have the center section made out of fabric for comfort, and the bolsters/outside of the seat made of vinyl so its easy to clean.

Thanks.

Leaning towards the PRP seats now with your info. The TS seats look great, but the wait and the price are pushing me away.

Going with either a hip bar or full across the doors, so the high bolster will be fine, as I'll be climbing up and over the cage anyhow.

No no on the vinyl face... the tweed fabric looks really nice and I bet comfy, but I am leaning towards the ballistic nylon as I like the water resistance and durability. Should be pretty good on bare skin as well. SO likely all in that material... or maybe the vinyl on the back when I don't touch.

Not sure I am keeping the slide at all.... might adapt it to the cage, but not sure? Getting rid of all the air-bag crap.

Good seat companies like PRP or Mastercraft and others offer many seat variations. You choose reg or high back, reg width or extra wide and even extra extra wide, and a variety of bolster heights. You'd probably be OK with normal height, but many of us need the extra high if we want our head to actually hit the head rest.

That's the question. A call to PRP lead to a suggestion of the Daily Driver model... a low hip bolster seat. I think she couldn't quite grasp these were going into a buggy. But... maybe she's right?

Looking at their comp and premier seats now. Obviously I don;t need the extra height or width.... but wondering if they will properly locate the harness to my torso? That is my main concern. Without a bunch here to try, it's hard figuring that out. Also looking at the Mastercraft Pro4s as an alternative.

Okay.... pulling the trigger as soon as my adjusted quote comes back in.

After talking with PRP, either seat would likely work, but the Comp will fit me better. Interesting seeing how short I am. I wonder who the smaller one is made for?

Doing the ballistic nylon all around... back around the back and dark grey everywhere else (thinking this will be super durable while giving most of the benefit of that vinyl (easy to clean) and tweed (comfort) do combined). Also ditching the piping for double stitching (hear the piping is a weak spot).

Also pulled the trigger on their 5.3 harnesses.... I was going for the ratchet one, but they told me it was more work to use and the only benefit was to someone racing. Saved me a few bucks!

Not sure why this wasn't my first upgrade... the more I research, the more I realize this will be a good thing for my back.
