WHERE TO DONATE?

Postby cornejojeep » April 16th, 2010, 12:50 pm

I am allowed to donate up to $1000 with my company to a non profit organization and was seeing if anyone knew of a good local one that dedicates to keeping some of our local trails open, opening new trails, cleaning trails, etc. I figured i should donate to something I am interested in. If anyone has any ideas post them on here!

Stewards of the Sequioa. They fight for us on the local level, and have already saved our local trails from closure.

Thanks for offering to donate to a local group.
The best local would be Cal4 and their foundation.
They make donations to local groups that do clean-ups and other events to show the responsible side of our sport.

Then look at Blue Ribbon.
They are involved in the fight to reopen Clear Creek.

I justed started work for Chevron, and if I turn in my documented hours for work with a 501 (c)3, they will also give a donation to the group in the form of cash.
I just have to get better at documenting my time is all now for Chevron to make that donation.

Thanks

Todd

If you want it to be local, then consider Stewards of the Sequoias. The various Friends groups are local to their causes, like Friends of the Rubicon, Friends of Fordyce, Friends of Johnson Valley. You can also donate to Blue Ribbon Coalition and have it specifically designated to Del Albright. Del is the one who is actually on the ground and face to face on important issues and trail closures, and his budget for expenses and travel has been cut back. I'm a Cal4wheel member and have nothing against them, but a donation to them can get lost in the shuffle, while a donation to one of the other groups can actually make an impact.

For local, I say Stewards of the Sequoias.

I will def. look into those and I def. want it to go into good hands and somewhere locally. Even though I am not as an avid 4 wheeler like a lot of people on here......I still love to go to the trails every once in a while to get away, challenge myself, and meet people so I want these trials to stay open for as long as possible for everyone!
