Wheelin?

It seems like there's a lot of people on here from Bakersfield, and I'm curious about a good wheeling spot between there and Ventura that people meet up at? I don't have a trailer, so I'd be driving my beast to wheel, so long distant trips wouldn't be too fun.

Well there is Hungry Valley SVRA wich is right off of the I-5 in the grapevine. And there is also Freeway Ridge which is up to the North East of Bako off the 178.. Then there are some small places here in bako that some of us go just to get outt..

Sweet I'll check that out!! Do you guys have any requirements for scheduled runs? Specific stuff I'd need to bring along or have on my truck?

I haven't been to Gorman for a few years, last time I went I drove my '82 Burb, which was fun, but it's not built up nearly as much as my truck.

only requirement... not really cause if you don't have it somebody does... Someone, the run leader, will usually post up what kind of run we are doing. So if you need lockers, 35 inch tires, lift kit, that kind of thing so you don't get out there and you find out you have to turn around. This is a great club to be with... Everyone is very sharing and kind. Just stay away from Victor, his sharing is totally different then what we r talk about.

No no.... don't be scared of Victor. Maybe a little sexually challenged (i.e. Metro), but a good guy, never the less. I just wish he'd pick a side and stick to it. :thefinger:

We have no rules other than, we leave no one behind (unlike clubs such as CI4x4). Just be smart about what you need.... CB, tools, parts, fluids, food, water, etc.. Assume you are a big boy and can figure that out. :Thumb:

Can't wait to go wheeling with you.

Yes there are 3 major requirments....

1. First aid kit, and not know cheap 5 dollar kit that only has small band aids. Try to get one that comes wth patchs and gauzes. (Cosco has a nice onee for about 20 bucks, and so does walmart)

2. Fire extingusher...

3. Seat belts.!.!.! (Common sense you would think, but not always the case!)
Other than those three, all the other stuff is optional,

CB
Skid plates
Etc...

MAKE SURE you have front & rear attachment points for winch line on your truck. Being forced to pull you out by the axles could do $thousands$ in damage. Also, make sure you have a tire gage to air down and a small compressor or air tank to air your tires back up after the run. And a good full-size spare tire is a must.

Looking forward to seeing your beast in action :Thumb:
