well it will be your word against the police officer, but you should be able to take traffic school and get it wiped off your record, for that you would have to pay the fine, a little extra for the judge to allow you to go to traffic school and then traffic school itself, I am not sure how much the fine is, but I do believe it is under $100, but since you haven't had anything is so long, maybe fight it and it could be reduced then go to trafic school and get it wiped off your record. :yup:

How did that happen? did he think you threw it on after he pulled you over? I think the first one is pretty cheap, it's the next ones that start to add up. I wonder if he'd even show up for a seat belt ticket? then they would have to dismiss it.

I would try and get out of it. :stirPot: The court will assign you a date to appear, make sure to cancel it and make a new one, on a different day and time. The court assigns the best times for the police officers to come in, if you change it then there is a good chance they wont show. Ive gotten out of 3 speeding tickets like this when I had my wrx. Make sure to ask for proof if the cop doesnt show up. If the officer does appear then plead your case and the judge will more the likely reduce the charge. :drinks:

Careful thats old school thinking. CHP gets overtime for showing up. So now most choose to show up. Easy overtime hours.

If you fight it the judge is a lot less likely to reduce anything.

2 of my cousins are local CHP officers. They have scheduled days to go to court. Barring sickness or a family emergency, they ALWAYS show up. Don't count on them not being there. Even if it is not one of their scheduled court days, they get a days pay of easy money and are expected to be there.
