Rick Russel says hello to you guys. I guess you helped him out with Surprise Canyon years ago. He asked how the club was doing. I told him same guys, bigger tires :yup: .

Yes, Rick and the Trailblazers opened up Surprise Canyon as a 4x4 route a few years after the flash floods washed the road (totally) out the last time. Rick made a video, and the Trailblazers went on to officially adopt the trail under the adopt-a-trail program and led the annual Panamint City run up Surprise Canyon every year at Panamint Valley Days.

Those were fun times. We led and fed 20-25 rigs up Surprise with an overnight at Panamint City, fed 70-80 people a steak dinner and full blown breakfast. We had a whole cook crew that went up a day ahead and came down a day after, fun trip for those guys hanging out at Panamint City for a few days. That trail is really missed, that was a special place and a special time. Would love to have a shot at that canyon with the rigs we drive now!
