Is there anyone that can go for a run on a Monday? A buddy and I at work has Monday's off. He just got a brand new FJ and he wants to go 4x4 I was thinking Sherman pass or something newbie friendly where he can have fun.

I could possibly get a Monday off if given enough of a headsup.

I'll roll up with GJ and Ryan. BC109 or Gorman are close and easy.

CON = Rubicon :-)

Trails 111, 112 and 113 are a little more interesting than Gorman's dirt roads....#111 is "called" a black diamond on the map...it's rutted, semi-steep and rocky in places...112 is cool ..113 too...all are gorgeous too. All are in the Gorman/Fraizer Park area..right up the road. I think a few of us are going to be out there this weekend... :drunkbuds:

LOL... you could drive a Honda Civic through 90% of Gorman!

Exactly...even a newbie would get bored there...at least within 5 minutes. we're going to be camping all weekend on the top of Fraizer...did a night run on Miller last weekend...that was fun..ran with another club..about 33 rigs...hit it at 8pm; finished it at 1am ish...couple broken rigs along the way...Good times!

you could spend alot of time at hungry valley's 4x4 practice area.

run the water fall, sluice box (the whole thing), mud pits, and the rock garden up the hill and see how easy it is. not as easy as it use to be.

true the dirt trails around gorman are pretty easy (Henry's Crack is alot of fun) but they have made the 4x4 area alot more challenging

You should run it with IOR some time. Most of our body damage and break-downs happen there. Most of my damage was done there.

I don't need to break shit to have fun...and I can't be breaking anything on my rig. Daily driver and I'm living poor as it is to support my weekends as it is..

most of ours are daily drivers , and all rigs get body damage unless you dont really get down and dirty and wheel and just take all the easy bypasses

Asking for time off... I'll let you all know when I get approved!

I have heard about "Henry's Crack" maybe next time.
And the most fun I've had at Gormons (so far) is playing in the 4x4 training area... and some random smaller hill climbs near there.

I heard a little story about my phone call... interesting. Are you cheating on Cum Injected *again*? John will not like this. First with IOR, now with VC4WD (oops, I should have kept that to myself, huh?). Is Mugu next? How about the Snappers?

Its okay with us.... we don't care if you are in 100 clubs. We only like to wheel and do it with style.

Anyways.... I don't agree that Gorman would put a newbie to sleep. I think it's great for everyone. There isn't a lot to do out there that is challenging for some, but the play area, Henry's Crack, etc can be seriously smile creating.
I don't need to break shit to have fun...and I can't be breaking anything on my rig. Daily driver and I'm living poor as it is to support my weekends as it is..
Totally agree with this. Screw breaking shit, screw body damage. I too bought a dream rig and want to keep it looking new!
most of ours are daily drivers , and all rigs get body damage unless you dont really get down and dirty and wheel and just take all the easy bypasses
Hardcore! Becca.... not everyone thinks body damage is sexy. Then again... not everyone can dress up some body damage with a little makeup. You my friend, have special talents.

(edit: as I reread that, it came out wrong.... Becca, you dress up the trail and all the damaged rigs. No makeup necessary!)
the only thing I've bypassed is the gatekeeper in Calico.....it's all good...ya'll have a good time 8)
Scarier than it looks. You are locked up.... you should run it. I have never broke or damaged my rig going up it (no... not begging fate to pay me a visit, just saying... the right line will get you through).

We always have a good time, we always take care of one another, and we always respect one another... really the only requirements here. Well... maybe that and not getting blasted on the trail. I once dealt with a drunk fucker on the trail and will not do that again. But.... I digress. We have runs from mild to wild and something for everyone.

So... end of thread jack?

Again... I am down to wheel with you on a Monday. With 10 being the hardest (Hammers) and 1 being the easiest (fire road):

WEST DRY: .5 (do not recommend)
MILLER: .5 (do not recommend)
GORMAN: 1 (small pockets of 3/4, only a few hours of wheeling here)
BC109: 2 (small pockets of 4, half day trip)

I don't think anyone really cares enough about anything I do. I've been wheelin and camping just about every weekend for the past 2 months...not with any club, but rather, with some close friends. Honestly, I have a blast each and every single time. Being a member of club seems to create drama, as opposed to just hanging out with a couple close friends. Everybody fits in somewhere; maybe just not necessarily in a "club".

LIke I've always said, all I want to do is wheel....and that's what I'm doing.

Cheers!

Great.... that is all we do. Wheel!

As for caring... you might be surprised. After I was released from your club, several other IOR members were as well. No rhyme or reason to any of it. Not that it matters, I really didn't get the club's ethos, ethics, nor method of operation. It's run unlike any other club I have been a part of. I would have not gone on any other runs with them after the first. But... it would have been nice to have been able to meet and talk with the local wheelers on his site. Oh well... slowly, but surely, people will see what is really going on and there are a lot of other local clubs that are worth a shit.

No need for the panties to get bunched :lol3:

I was just pointing out that gorman is not all easy dirt roads as you implied. It has everything from very easy to extreme.

IOR is not a club with politics and BS. I don't care who your friends are are what groups you run with, you are more than welcome to line up on any of our runs. We are just a group of folks that like to wheel, help other members with builds, and support each other on the trail. We run full-body 4x4s harder than ANY club I know of (WAYYYYYY harder than the Ventura clubs), but have just as many beginner and stock runs (like Miller or Freeway Ridge). Some of us like to push the boundaries of our rig's capabilities, but none of us look down on folks that aren't willing to do that. We all understand what its like to wheel a daily driver on a budget or be a newb thats a little intimidated about damaging their vehicle. We do our best to let everyone know what to expect on our runs and will work our asses off to get everyone home safe.

Well said.

No wonder Tilly and Mark got along with us so well on their first and subsequent runs.... I have never seen a Suburban get into what 99.99% of hardcore Jeeps would shy away from. Those guys are the HARDCORE ones.... ! Plus Tilly looks like some kind of sexual deviant.... and he wonders why I wouldn't accept his offer to run straight up a 300' plus, 70% incline at 2am with him. I wasn't afraid of rolling down the hill and getting killed, I was worried about being devirginized.... you know, he's a big guy and Vicki can smell that shit a mile away and I didn't want him getting excited and going into some kind of environment induced heat.
