It was reported today that our own Abendx did little sluice and showed up all the buggies. Can't wait for the full story and more pics.

Good morning ladies.... please welcome me back from one of the most beautiful spots in the world!

So.... apparently I am now famous.

"Stunner Shades" ... "EPIC!" ... "Showed everyone up"

All very nice and all very flattering (luckily I saw this guy with his old lady, otherwise I be worried).....

BUT! I didn't actually make The Box. Unfortunately, it was an incomplete. We didn't know the lines and on the forth part of The Box I was in a bad spot and no matter what I did it would get way worse. Forward was really my only option, so we didn't have enough strength/grab points to help pull my front down, so we pulled some cable and used the winch to keep me from back flipping on my lid. While the cable only was used to hold my front end down and I drove through under my own power.... I am going to call it an incomplete since I did require assistance.

DD: No worries, your mall crawl crown is safe..... for now!

Oh yeah..... The Box did ZERO damage to my junk. Yes.... I almost back flipped in there, but the only thing that touched the trail was my armor. Wow.... BC-109 fucks my shit every time and the Box did nothing?

Using a winchline as a safety net doesnt count as a fail my friend. You owned that shit right in front of those Toyota Bastards claiming that the box is impossible in anything this year :lol3:

Next year.......

Yota guys there were way into me doing it. If it weren't for my JKO brethren being there and knowing who I was to some degree, the Yota heads would have been the loudest cheerleaders. some of the Yota guys and one Zuki guy (especially this guy) were a huge help to Randy and getting me through (I think very frustrating/worrisome to him as bad as I was in a spot or two). Of course.... everyone watching is happy when a rig makes it, but get happier when a rig flops, flips, etc..

Last year, I would say a buggy was a requirement to run it.... this year, the box looked easier to me. Then again, the whole trail seemed so from last year. Not sure if it is due to later in the season or I now know the trail since I had last year's experience? I'd say a rig with 31s and one locker could do it taking the easiest lines. There was a guy in front of us on 33s going up Caddy with only a LSD in the rear. Downright dangerous and had to be pulled up in seven spots that I recall. I think a locker and aversion to having a nice undercarriage are the actual requirements.

My two fave parts of the trail are now the Box and the Old/True Box. I don't care for Caddy and Million Dollar is just scary in a short wheelbase, but is fun, fun, fun!

Still not sure if I'll take it as a complete. Can't wait to get you in next year Chris.... who else wants to show why IOR rocks the rest.

And.... let me tell you Chris, those JKO guys, as soon as they saw my IOR sticker ran up and were like, we hung with DD! You got some rep there and I think we should use your good name to bring some new blood into IOR.... a NORCAL Chapter and then beyond!

Larry and I were constantly amazed at how easy the trail is this year. If you noticed, from loon to just past Wentworth is damn-near paved this year; All the big boulders moved off to the side of the trail and part of it was graded and covered with gravel to the new bathroom. We noticed that big boulders we played on last year were moved off to the side of the trail. Also, many of the hard lines were baracaded off. Its still a tough trail for a long wheelbase vehicle on small tires, but all the short wheelbase Jeeps ran it like a normal 4-rated trail. A couple of the JKO guys and Fryloco with Infectious broke their Rubi-lockers but still had little trouble getting through - they would have been pulled through the whole thing last year

They think im a nut, so I think you fall into that category too. Wait till they get a load of Henry

Okay.... so it wasn't just me. Randy didn't agree, so I thought it must be something other than the trail being easier. But if you guys felt the same, then it is easier and they are fucking it up. So what now.... the buggy guys are making the trail too hard for most in some spots and the JJUSA guys are doing the exact opposite and trying to turn the Con into a two lane, paved road again. Maybe.... just maybe it was the weather that moved shit around and we will not worry about this becoming a trend. Fucking weird that last year was the hardest anyone that I spoke with that had a history there?

And yeah.... you and I are in the 2nd grade compared to our post grad, Henry. Too bad he had to back out. They would have been going crazy.

Address PM'd. But why did you know?? I am usually very mild mannered and only run the lines with the least amount of resistance. See in that pic.... I am putting a tire in the air since it now will have no rolling resistance. Smart, right?

No, all man-made trail mods. Craig told us that the FOTR did it as part of agreement with the forest service to keep the trail open through erosion control efforts.

Also, because of the Water Control Board wanting to close the trail due to human feces in spider lake area, there are plans to blow up the big boulders in little sluice and make it an easy route to discourage crowds from gathering there and people from going to spider lake. They basically want folks to just pass through that area without stopping. I wish that Off-Road organizations were more like the NRA, which refuses to compromise with the liberals because they know the commies will always want more, but they are not and will keep finding middle-ground with the Obamites until we have nothing left.

Randy's problem is the 4-doors; Although the con was much easier than most anyone has seen, there are more tight spots (squeezes) this year than in years past. 2-doors on 35s just cruised through everything, but the 4-doors had lots of problems (even with big tires). Im sure you had to get out and do some creative spotting for Rando more than once.
