The Jeep Wave

Postby Josh JP » August 3rd, 2011, 6:57 am

So I have noticed that in my new stock Jeep there are not alot of Jeep waves. I think this is due to so many different people owning jeeps now. When i'm in the CJ or Willys everyone with any modification, even
one sticker waves. So I am going to keep it alive as long as possible haha.

Jeep JKs aren't considered real Jeeps. You bought the two door model of Jeep's H2. Just like the H2, people came to the conclusion it sucked and wasn't really capable compared to old models.... hey, even the H3 is a way better platform than those JKs that can barely make it over a rock.

Problem is two fold:

1) The introduction of the 4-door opened up a market to soccer mom types that will never get into the "Jeep thing". This is the first generation of CJs/Wranglers ever where most of them will never see dirt - it basically took over where Grand Cherokee sales left off. I gave up on waving at the 4-doors. If they wave at me, I wave back - but I got sick of getting dirty looks every time I initiated the wave at them.

2) Since Chrysler closed most of the designated Jeep dealerships, and now sell them at regular Chrysler dealerships, the bone-headed sales staff do not educate new Jeep owners on the Jeep wave. In the past, Jeep dealerships would tell all perspective buyers about how Jeeping is a way of life and how the Jeep wave was the first custom of it's kind, dating back over 60 years (they used Jeep pride as a selling point back then). Now that most dedicated Jeep dealerships are gone since the release of the JK, the incompetent Chrysler bone-heads are letting new owners leave the lot ignorant of the Jeeping tradition.

I pretty much always wave. The problem is my daily driver is a ford super duty. I forget im not in the jeep and start the wave, only to realize Im driving the truck and the other person just floors it to get away from me. Lol

Meh... these guys have no clue.

Best go out and trade up to a pink Prius, lift it, and be done with it. After all, you are living in the south again.
