Does anybody have any experience with Metal Cloaks products? I ahve been reading on their Duroflex control arms and they sound well built and worth the investment. I just wanted to see if anyone had real world knowledge on their parts and customer service.

Marketing.

The joint may or may not be good... right now, no one has run one long enough to really know.

What are you trying to accomplish is a better place to start.

I was looking at their 3.5 max flex as a possible upgrade but want to do it in steps. The 6pak shocks sound interesting in theory.

I've read nothing but good reviews on the Duroflex bushings. The link below is long but has a lot of good info on the joints. Keep in mind that they have been in use for a little while now and have had no complaints that would scare me away from using them.

If I were you, I would go with a proven system like the Rock Krawler 3.5". RK has a lot of marketing gimmicks just like the other manufacturers do (calling their short-arm lift a "mid-arm"), but they make top-quality components that have withstood the test of time, and have fantastic customer service.

Metal Cloak makes some good stuff, and some crappy stuff, so you have to wait a while to see how they hold up and see what changes they make in the coming year as customer feedback starts coming in. I made the mistake of buying the TF LCG kit when they came out because ALL the mall-crawlers on JKF and JKO said they were the best. Well after about a year and a half of playing in the rocks with Abendx, Henry, and Josh - that lift fell apart; bushing split, joints wore, brackets broke at the factory welds and ripped off the frame on the trail, and control arms bent. Just about all Jeep parts go through a design evolution after the paid customers do their product testing :lol3:

I know you don't want to hear this, but all of these manufacturers joints are a gimmick. You will get more strength and misalignment out of a 1-1/4" heim than you will from their fancy joints.

Noise might be an issue with heims.... is this a daily driven jeep? But 100% agree with you... gimmicks for the most part, although I like the creativity.

OP: now you've heard the same thing twice. :yup:

Drill daddy. I have the 3.5" max from RK. Remember we were testing on freeway? That gives you an idea of what it does compared to the 3.5" rubi express you have currently. Also RK has awesome upgrade potential.
