I thought I would start a thread for this subject after it came up because of the roll over at PVD.
Does anyone run a Ham radio and is any one willing to sort of mentor some of us along in getting whatever is required to get our Ham licence?

I am working on my license also.

I am in the club that had the rollover.
A ham radio would have helped in the communications during the initial reporting.

That's what I was thinking, but I'm unaware if anyone in our club runs a Ham....but maybe every one hasn't seen this thread yet.

I purchased and activated a Sat Phone. Others in the club are doing the Ham thing. I will probably eventually get a ham but for now I wanted something different.

So what did that run you?

Igofshn runs a CB like the rest of us.
But found out how useless for distance they really can be during the incident at PVD.
