Victors new ride

Postby VICTORG93307 » July 26th, 2012, 11:43 am

Well after driving a Camry, and now damn Toyota Venza I desperately needed to find a Jeep again, I was contemplating an XJ, or a Toyota but I found this little diamond in the rough under the Barter section in Visalia. Well she is now in her new home. Its a 1982 CJ7 originaly thought it was a CJ5 but Justin made sure to let me know it was a 7. She has the straight 6 carburated which is kind of annoying and I had not had to pump the gas before starting ever before on top of the fact it has to warm up for about 5 minutes otherwise it starts to die. Stick shift of course, drove it back from Visalia taking the 65 and it ran pretty damn good, did not pull to either side and made it all the way home on its own power. Thanks Trevina for the help. Put in an optima as the battery it had was on its last leg, put some seat covers up front and it looks decent. Also the previous owner rhinolined the interior, it also has an onboard air system that seems pretty kick ass it has a York compressor up front and it gets to 150psi in about 10 seconds. Not sure where to start on this beast but lockers for sure, the white snake has already looked at it and has plenty of ideas. Here are a few pics i took today.

Do the HEI distributor and motocraft carb swap and she'll smoke 4.0's all day.
2013 Jeep JKUR on 35" Kanati Trail Hogs, 2.5" Rough Country coil lift
2006 Yamaha Rhino 660 on 28" BajaCross, with winch.
2008 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7 CTD leveled with 20's and 35's.
Some boom toys here and there too.

FB = FagBook.

It is the place VD hangout and troll for unsuspecting straight men.... Justin, you've been had!

Humm.... seems like we have a new dictionary entry!

Anyways.... Vicki! Nice seven. As Zak pointed out, you need to ditch the carb (or go propane). Carbs majorly suck when you are wheeling. In my experience, high angle carbs don't work.... stick to injection. The rest is up to you.... I'd get that WhiteSnake out, give it a good rub down, and then ask for help. He did a hell of a job with his!

Yeah not sure if I even want to mess with the motor that's in there. My dad has a vortec 5.3 from a totaled 2005 tahoe with all the wiring and computer and chit. The snake was saying to couple that with a turbo 400 tranny and a transfer case. It'll take a while but worth it in the end. Not really digging the carburated engine at all.

Yeah Axle upgrade for sure otherwise ill be blowing shit up all the time, cant do both at the same time sadly just so happened that dad had a 5.3 laying at the shop and the customer is getting charged every month all his junk is in there. It will take some time for the swap but i really want to go mess with this beast as is soon hopefully this saturday see what breaks or what is already broken. :thefinger:
