Where's Freeway Ridge?

Postby Special Ed » February 3rd, 2007, 9:06 pm

Hey, whats up? I was just woundering if someone could tell me what kind of trail Freeway Ridge is and where is it located exactly? From what I understand some of you have run this trail a few times. Do you need lockers, winches, 98 in. tires or what. Can a person make the run with a mild lift and the basics? Any info would be appreciated. A friend of mine was interested in making that run and I haven't ever made it myself. Thanks for any info.

Freeway Ridge is a moderate trail. In the summer months you can make it in a moderately modified vehicle. In the winter months it becomes a bit more difficult. The trail becomes wet and slippery making it difficult to get through without ground clearance and at least a limited slip in the rear. All but the first obstacle have a by-pass.

To get there drive up 178 through the canyon, about 1 1/2 miles after it turns to 4 lanes you will see a large turn off on the left hand side of the road. There is a gate there that is not locked, please make sure to close it after yourself.

We should be running up there again very soon. I will post as soon as we nail down the details.
