Trying to fabricate a travel plan here;

IDEA #1 = Do you have a truck Dale? If so, you could trailer your Jeep there on my trailer. I can pull my travel trailer with my truck so we have a warm spot to sleep and a bathroom. Harry can drive my JK to Johnson Valley. That way, the JK with the most damage can be trailered back to Bakersfield.

IDEA #2 = I will trailer my own Jeep and everyone will take their Jeeps too. We sleep in tents & shit in buckets and get too drunk at night to give a shit about the cold or bathrooms. The most damaged Jeep can go on the trailer to get back to Bako.
I like idea #1 :yup:

we need to get some shirts made!! :yup:

Talk to Brian Choate. I think he may have access to a two car trailer and he isn't on the forum all that often.
OK, a problem.

The BLM made the event coordinators change the event dates to Jan 14th and 15th, so the event will be Thursday and Friday (instead of Friday and Sat). The person that I registered as my co-driver/spotter can not get off of work on Friday, so has to cancel. So unless I can register a new co-driver in the next couple of days, I won't be able to participate.

If you can help a brother out, I would appreciate it. You just can't cancel on me once I register you with the event coordinator. Spotter must also be an experienced wheeler and good with a winch, you have to get me up the waterfall on Back-door and possibly some other "bonus" obstacles - and we have to do this with no tools, spare tires, or trail repairs allowed, so we have to keep the jeep intact.

No prizes for the winner, not even a race really, just bragging rights. Some of the most built JKs in the West are going and I want to see how I stack up. There will be lots of vendors handing out swag and media coverage too.

Any takers?
hay chris you say the dates are 14 and 15 witch is friday and saterday not thursday and friday that would be the 13 and 14 so let tjer no dale sed its friday and saterday to

JK-challenge; Johnson Valley, 1/15/11

Postponed!!!!

Gives desert dog a little more time to get use to his new shoes, and maybe some practice runs (I suggest driver & spotter should get some practice) maybe some better weather too.

Yep, I got an email from JKX early this morning. Going to get postponed till this summer. Apparently, they got overloaded with so many vendors and participants, that the BLM is making them resubmit the permit for a larger event. I'm fine with it, as long as it doesn't coincide with our Rubicon run.

What are the dates again?

I'm in if you need a co-x, and doing some prep work at G&G. I'm starting to book some dates for summer.

I believe so, since it is an officially sanctioned event, but only while the event is running on a particular trail.

No dates yet, the new permit has not cleared with the BLM yet. Yep, we definitely need to put the beast on the lift and do some prep work before going out.

I seriously doubt they'll be able to close the trails to other vehicles during the event. KOH didn't get that privilege until it's 3rd year, they they're the biggest single event in JV OHV area. But, it shouldn't matter much.

Chris, I don't remember, are you 5 on 5 bolt pattern or 5 on 5.5?

Good. ;)

With no spare allowed, I think it would be good to have some tougher tires..........
