miller jeep trail is open- changed to sat. 5-24

Miller Jeep Trail in Lockwood Valley is now open. We called the ranger to verify it opened on 5-15. We will be heading up Sunday morning. If you would like to join us we will be leaving AMPM at Taft Hwy and 99 at 9am. We haven't taken this trail in the last two years, but it was quite fun last time. Lots of bolders and rocks to climb over on the way up. The trail leading over to Miller Jeep trail is through Lockwood Valley and is moderate. The most difficult part being the last two miles straight up the mountain to the back side of Gorman offroad park.

John / Marcy, sorry we will be up at Shaver / Wishon this coming weekend. There is even a chance of snow above 8000 and we will be at 7800. So we will get some mud or snow. :D

Hi Bert, we knew you were out of town this weekend. Sorry we can't go with you due to our daughters grad. she wants me to take her to disneyland. lbh- ya, we can change to Saturday if you can make it. Either day works great for us. So lets plan on leaving AMPM at 9am. Bring your kids along. We are bringing our Lab puppies (our kids are grown), but our son might ride with in his friends jeep since he broke his on the last trip. It will be a small group, but we should have a great time. Anyone else is welcome to go as well. Please post if anyone else is meeting us.

My son Matt is going with us. He is riding with his friends Tahoe, unless John can fix his jeep tonight.

John:

thanks for the call. Yes, my drive lines were replaced, both front/rear, with REEL shafts. During the trail, under full droop, I did hear a ratching sound a fe times which may have been the transfercase and drive lines. I am going to take a better look tomorrow. I inspected the rear shaft and out put of the transfercase yesterday and saw nothing. My luck I screwed something up!
