BC109 BLOCKED OFF

Postby chuckanut105 » February 28th, 2011, 10:29 am

After going up the 33 to see snow I wanted to show a friend BC109 and the drop in. ITS BLOCKED OFF!!! They cut down trees and dozed the whole area and placed bolders to keep people out. WTF i dont know why its just in that one spot too. I walked around and took pictures (that are too big to post WTF how do you resize pics?) The place we come out at and shoot wasn't blocked off but there was some trash (that I picked up). WTF why close that one spot? If you want the pics give me your email and ill forward them or if some one can resize them.

BC109 BLOCKED OFF

How far up the 33 is it? People seem to like that trail. I'd drive my truck there if it isn't too far

Do you mean the drop-in at the end of Dome springs, This one?

Im sure your friends in Ventura or the USFS closed it. Nothing like healing the environment by dozing down trees and moving boulders  . And that was cool of you guys to pick up trash out there :salute: .

Yup. It sucks. you cant even get to it by jeep and then its blocked off at the top with dirt and a log and they pushed the rocks to the base.

Well we have all thought of it this aint the best place to post stuff like that up. The tree huggers are watching. It might not be as big of a problem here as it is on the larger sites ie pirate4x4.com but still we dont need to add any fuel to an already hot fire. Land use is a big issue right now and we need to do our part to keep the trails open so we HAVE A PLACE TO LEAGLEY WHEEL It isnt just BC109 they have shut down parts of the rubicon trail, moab, and telico this is a national problem. And in the long run its are kids who get the shaft. Im not a polititical or an activist just some one who like to keep public lands open for the responsiable use and enjoyment for everyone. :salute:

It looks like they just wanted to make new obstacles for us. :dontknow:

In all seriousness though, we need to be careful about what we post, here and on YouTube. If you've got videos of unsafe wheeling, illegal wheeling, tearing stuff up wheeling, drinking while wheeling, or accidents I think you might wanna take them off.

There's this new geologic report out on the contents of dust out at nellis dunes, and the results are not good. This will probably be used against nellis. In a PowerPoint presentation they labeled off readers as "the worst drivers". To my astonishment one of the professors at csub wanted me to participate in the study. He wanted me to run dust samples through an electron microscope looking for heavy elements. I declined.
