Petty Cash Racing had a great race at Reno, congrats to the guys. Wish I could have made this one! The team won the award for Index of Effluency, which sort of means the car that did the most with the least. The overall race winner gets $1500, and the Index winner gets $1501, so the guys had 1500 bucks to blow in Reno.

Back in Dec, we won C class at Buttonwillow, so at Sears Point last month they bumped us up a class to B class. We were running pretty good at Sears Point until we blew the motor, but we swapped in another and finished the race. The car ran really well at Reno this weekend, so well that the little Jeep XJ got the Index of Effluency prize because they did so much better than anyone would have ever thought possible in a Jeep SUV on a road racing course. Really, it's pretty damn cool to win that award for running well rather than being the most unlikely car to be on the track and finish. In Buttonwillow the award went to a Fiat 800 that was so slow it was in everybody's way all weekend.....a very unlikely car to be out there.

Wow! Jeep Corporate somehow linked to the Petty Cash blog page and Facebook. We got a ton of hits today. I'm still looking for a 2wd XJ to build another car. This is fun stuff.

Thats awesome. An XJ is the last thing that comes to mind when you think of racing on pavement.
