Back from Florida

[Desert Dog]

Had a lot of fun with the family in the Florida Keys.

Weather was about 12 degrees cooler than Bakersfield, with a nice afternoon rain every day. Fished the flats for Tarpon and Permit, but the sharks kept crashing the party every time we hooked up. First came the Bull Sharks, then the Lemon Sharks, then the Hammerheads. SOOO, I said "screw it, lets catch us some sharks". I actually ended up landing 4 that were over 200# on 40lb test. Man the arms were tired!

Also spent a day doing a combo trip where we snorkeled the reefs for a few hours, then fished for a few hours. The snorkeling was awesome in 90 degree water. We caught and released about a hundred fish, but most were pretty small.
