You guys are a bit more experienced and built up. I don't like being that guy who is pulled up the mountain. I made freeway ridge no problem when gatekeeper was still there. Where is BC109 compared to Gorman?
Never have done Freeway, so I can't compare, but others can. My feeling is that they are similar trails, from a difficulty level. BC109 is 20-30 minutes from Frazier Park.

I'll make sure you get through everything, no matter. But... both areas are pretty easy and fun (BC109 used to be harder, but it's been washed out to not too much). Gorman will be the easier of the two. Neither is pretty. Neither is out of the heat. They are basically the same place. One is a real trail, the other is a big ass playground. BC109 you have the trail and Gorman you have the play area and Henry's crack. There is likely more fun shit out there, but the problem is that no one knows where that is?

Never been to either one. I just want to wheel, 109 looks more
Fun. It don't matter where we go, planned the run for a begginer but since he will not be there let's do 109.

BC109 is tougher than Freeway Ridge in the summer. Freeway Ridge is tougher in the winter.

He's on 31s and locked in the front, I don't think BC109 is going to pose any issue. I have never thought the trail to be tough while dry, when wet.... that shit is slippery and a different story! Now it just seems to have gotten easier. From the last trip out there with Randy last month, the trail has become smoother than most CA freeways and almost as wide in some points (up, after the v notch). I'd say he could do it without the locker.

@DD: So you are saying, if he ran Freeway in the Winter, you think he will know the difficulty level of BC109 in the summer? There you go Phillip... an informed answer to your question.

Freeway ridge in deep winter is way harder than Johnson valley in my opinion. Hell u can't even finish the trail in winter and are lucky if u don't slide off the trail in to some nasty positions.. ask harry lol I've done bc109 in 2wd, in my suburban, and my f350 longed crew cab diesel... Only cool thing about 109 is there's boulders and other Lil side things to play on which make it fun.

Phillip.

Just so we are clear.

When you get to Frazier Park, you'll take the exit and work over to Lockwood Valley Road. You'll run that for 20+ minutes until you come to a plateau (it will get fairly windy for a mile or two just before this). We'll be not too far down the road form there. We'll be sitting on the road for you... can't miss three Jeep with IOR stickers. :Thumb:

If for some reason you get there before us and you go too far, no biggie. Lockwood Valley ends about three or five miles up from the trail. So worst case, you make it to the 33 where Lockwood ends and wait for us there. We will see you when we make the turn.

The trail is designated 8N40, I believe, and there might be signs that say BC109 now that it is 'big time?!?'

See you in the morning.

No burned butts :thefinger:

Had a great time.... I'll let Ryan *and* Phillip tell the story!

But... a teaser. GJ showed and I actually saw him wheeling!?!? But... he did park his rig at the v-notch and rode shotgun, umm... bitch, the rest of the way. :stirPot:
