I Will Remember 9/11

If you went on a run this is where to brag about it!

I Will Remember 9/11

Postby casaintsfan » September 11th, 2011, 9:53 am

Great time last night, I wanna thank everyone that took part I this run (on the trail & off)
I also wanna thank everyone that helped who ever needed it.
I can see this being an annual event.
Let's hope & pray that the fire fighters get the upper hand on all those fires & that that select fee aren't hung over too bad this morning. Lol

Thank everyone
Larry

Awesome run. Surreal to run the trail and drive up to the canyon with the glow of wildfires in the background. With the rain, lightning storms, and numerous wildfires, I was surprised that so many showed up. had to be over 20 rigs and almost 50 people. We left the Chevron at almost 7:30 and found that the CHP closed the 178 just after we got through, probably another 5 minutes and we wouldn't have made it.

Some carnage was had. Harry busted his driveline which required some pretty tough winching and pulling. At one point, I pulled 2 samis and a toy up piston hill. The 4WP XJ got 3 flats, a broken brake line, and some body damage, and as usual put on a skinny pedal show to remember. Curtis flopped his TJ, then decided that wasn't enough and slid into an embankment coming down Rancheria. He has a 8" rip in his MTR, a broken steering knuckle, broken brake line, bent wheel, and probably a host of other things I am to tired to find right now.

We recovered Bigfoot's Jeep this morning. What a bitch it was to get that thing on the trailer. Wasn't in the mood to assess all the damage yet.

But for flopping his jeep in a rut and for f'ing up his front end slamming into an embankment doing 45, I do believe that Bigfoot deserves the shithead award.

Jeff deserve some recognition too, for surviving a white-snake attack.

The 9-11 magnets are awsome :Thumb:

That's alot of carnage!, is freeway seriously that bad? I remember making it up there with a 4" lift and stock 235/75/15's lol, only needed to take the winch once on piston hill cuz I didn't have a locker at the time
89' cherokee, 4.0, 4" bds long arm lift,fox2.0/bilstein 5150's shox, 35x14.5 boggers & 33x10.5 km2's on steelies w/rock rings, custom paint, custom built sliders/Front/rear bumper. Locked Front/Rear

I want to thank everyone that attended this run, I switched weekend with my Ex so my daughter could be part of this run, this run ment a lot to me as i mentioned before, I want to thank everyone that gave me a hand, I want to give a special thank you to Rosanna Reed for making the magnets, they were pretty awesome!

It was a great turn out, I am glad the fire and weather didn't scare anyone away, did miss a green jeep on the run, but they had a good excuse :salute: like Larry said, we could make this an annual event, and make it bigger and better :salute:

Again I thank everyone :salute:

It was good fun, I may have had more fun as a passenger rather than driver this time.

Mr. Whitesnake,

Its just unfortunate that you and Jeff's cow-tipping attempt didn't work out. That would have been great vid.

the magnets were a great surprise :Thumb: i finally found my brother, apparently he had
followed the black ford and a jeep up over piston hill when he realized we weren't behind him.
he pulled off the trail and eventually fell asleep. he has no idea how long he was asleep, but
when he woke up, he was disoriented, wasn't sure if he went the wrong way, and that we
had carried on without him. he just started driving. he was thrilled to see pavement because
he didn't know where he was up until that point. we all enjoyed the run, but i missed my pickup.
shook down mama's ride, so i feel better about her taking it to Calico in October. i would really like
you guys to do a night run like us desert rats do it. head out, wheel until you've had enough, throw
down a tent where ever, wake up when you want to, have a sandwich and a cup of coffee, sit and BS awhile,
and drive home sober & coherent when you're good and ready.(glad monepit & whitesnake weren't driving) :drunkbuds:
thanks for having us. P.S. my pick up maybe down a couple more weeks(got a bunch more goodies to
install  )

Other than the fact that they were all Brahma bulls, I didn't bother to remind you guys that you are supposed to tip them when they are asleep

And thats a biiig pic mang.
