Well went out with roger to shakedown a few of his recent upgrades and found some issues of my own.
2 minutes it seemed into the black rock canyon trail my trans stopped shifting with the lever. found that the stock plastic bushing the linkage pivots on melted so the linkage was popping out. shoved that back in then it did it again in 50 ft. this time the end of the cable from the xj trans broke. had nothing with us that could replace a shift cable. so spent the weekend with a crescent wrench in hand and having Becka hold the brake while i switched gears.
made obstacles more interesting without a quick reverse being an option.
on the second morning we were doing some exploring by the opal mines and roger found out how to create two sidewall slices on the same tire while attempting a waterfall obstacle.
i was also seemingly going through fuel at a semi rapid rate. when i got home found a fuel leak from a rubber hose... hmm 2+2...
also saw zak remove his stock rear bumper the quick way....
