Yep same here. When I bought mine in 08, you had FT, Rubicon Express, and Teraflex. All the locals here in Bako told me to steer clear of FT due to horrible service and product issues, and RE was having lots of issues (and I don't like radius arms). So I went with Teraflex, beat the hell out of it almost every weekend for a couple years, and have since bent/broke most of it over the years and now run a custom G&G suspension.
For someone starting out right now, get the RK kit. Their x-factor kits kick ass. Very well engineered, top-quality materials, great clearance, awesome flex with no binding, and good customer service. IMO, you should get the 3.5" kit right now, and later you can upgrade as your tires get bigger (and they will).
G&G off-Road on fruitvale has lots of experience putting sleeves and gussets on JK axles.
