Come out for a good time, looking forward to meeting some new people. Mule canyon is where everyone will be camping, just look for infectious.
Hey everyone I am new here, and live in the Ridgecrest area. And was wondering if you didn't mind if I tag along. I am off Friday-Sunday so I could go all three days...I kind of skimmed this thread but is everyone camping or how is this going to work?
You are more than welcome to join us. We are going out Friday till Sunday. Rebel Chapter will be out there early Friday afternoon to secure a camp spot for all of us with IOR arriving later Friday and some sat morning early. Look back in the post and you will find the map that Matt posted, showing where we will be camping. Like Matt from Rebel Chapter said look for their flag and don't be shy, go up introduce yourself they are a very friendly group.

Some will be in trailers and others will be tent camping, there is plenty of room for either but there are no hookups. This is dry camping so you need to bring everything you need, food, water, firewood....ect. :camping:

Gonna be a LOT of people there. The trails are going to be a parking lot. Anyone down for checking out the carnage on "Gatekeeper" saterday morning before hitting the trail. Kinda let the big pack get ahead of us ? Next question, is anyone that is going NOT seen action on gateKeeper yet ? Who wants to be trail leader and such.

Katie, the kids, and I are leaving around Saturday morning at 10am, unless soccer team can manage without Connor (our 7 year old) and me (assistant coach). We are only bringing one Jeep as well, so we'll probably do more camping than trail running. We wouldn't mind driving up with anyone else who is going Saturday morning. I'll have confirmation on Friday about the game and we'll decide then, if were going to leave Saturday morning or Friday afternoon.

my bro and I borrowed a "Infectious" banner to hang off the side of the motor home. we're heading to mule canyon thursday mid-day-ish, to try and claim a large
site for everyone. gonna string caution tape everywhere :thefinger: i've heard they had alot of rain over there recently, mule canyon road is good, but rutted on both sides. it may be difficult for some vehicles(motorhomes) we will choose wisely

I object to outside canyon... tent in the wind is the suck factor lol

As far as trail plans/leads....

My general plan is as follows...

Saturday morning around 8-9am-lead out of camp run up odessa back, then to wallstreet and back, then down phillps loop.
depending on time down phillips either continue on or stop for lunch.

Next head up Doran then back down phillips loop. Stop for lunch, if lunch already done, head to gatekeeper for people to play and carnage. This would be the time for the willing to run scrambler if they know where it is.

The reason I plan on heading up odessa first before gatekeeper is knowing the other group out there (wrecked), get very late starts on the trails, so we can get on the trail and have our fun. If we stopped at gatekeeper first we would be behind other groups and loose time.

If anyone else has any other thoughts im all ears. But thats my general plan and have no issues leading the days activities.

We should have roughly 15 rigs or so and that isnt too long of a train on these trails. If we see the need we can split the group into two sections.

If you want to run Scrambler or "Goatmans cut" and you have rigs on 35s / inexperienced drivers - plan on it taking a long time :lol3:

Wish I could make it. Love the Desert this time of year.

I would do it in a heartbeat. Most of Calico is very easy for a locked rig on 33s. But I have a Cancer charity event on Sat night (Fight for Life), Halloween party on Sunday, and work on Monday

Looks like the weather is going to be perfect!

Becca this past weekend at Gorman/freeway tossed me into some over heating problems, I tried a new return bottle, a new temp sending unit and went I change the thermostat and broke off my housing. It wasn't pumping water so I'm thinking it might be a water pump... I'm getting the parts tonight but I can't be for sure it will fix my over heatin issue, I don't think I'll make it this weekend, I've just opened a can of worms...
