Close Call!!!

Postby Desert Dog » December 14th, 2011, 7:49 am

Well, last night Bigfoot and I decided to drive our Jeeps down to Oxnard to attend their Meet & Greet. About 4 miles West of Filmore on the 126, Bigfoot's TJ starts to sputter and loose power. We pulled over to check things out, and all symptoms seemed to indicate that he fried another crank position sensor. we turned around and limped back into Filmore to get the part at the Autozone in town.

As luck would have it, That Autozone didn't have a sensor and the other parts place in town was closed. We were told by the clerk that they had a sensor in the town of Moorepark, 10 miles south, so we decided to leave the TJ parked in front of starbuchs and run for the part in my JK. Just before leaving we were going to get coffee at that starbuchs we were parked in front of, but changed our minds at the last minute because there were several people in line and we just wanted to get the Jeep fixed ASAP. Well, after deciding not to go into Starbuchs, this happened:

We would have definitely been in there if I didn't listen to that little voice in my head that said "don't fock around, just get the Jeep fixed". I did get the sensor in Moorepark, got the TJ running, and we made it over the maintain pass and back to Bakersfield with no issues.
