I'd like to start off with a big thank you to everyone for being gracious hosts! I had a fantastic time. Everyone was absolutely spectacular. I'd also like to give a special thanks to Matt for climbing underneath my Jeep in the middle of the night on that cold, windy, hill to remove my steering stabilizer that I mangled and pretty much stopped me dead in my tracks.

I carry wader boots with me for just for this type of occasion. I lent them out to this lovely couple and they got their first use today! I'm just glad it wasn't me wearing them. I'm also surprised he made his wife get out and hook up the tow stap. After all, he's the one that got them stuck!

Does anyone have this picture with me billowing out blue oil smoke? If they do, I'd love to see it. The PCV and intake was clean. James suggested it was oil pooled in the valve cover being sucked around an exhaust valve. Sounds like a reasonable explanation. Any other ideas?

Tally of damage between, me and becca is...

sidewall gash-lake
d30 stock axle shaft/joint-becca
skidplate bent enough to put cv joint into body-lake
trans mount bolts stripped caused 4wd linkage to come out-becca

Big thanks to Travis for lending us genius' that forgot our spare shafts, the d30 shaft.

Thanks from everyone to 4wp for representing and throwing some swag and a jack to the group.

Everyone out there had good attitudes and was having a good time, and if you insulted their manhood enough would try some of the newer/more difficult lines and obstacles.

This was a great run. Even though i'm getting more and more bored with Hungry Valley it's always exciting going with friends. On the first trail run of the day Sequoyah and I caught up to the group by following the prominent tire tracks of Jeff (munepit). In doing so I was actually going at speed through those freaking bumps that dirt bikes make (makes me want a jeepspeed). I enjoyed watching that ol' 4runner go over the waterfall time after time. At the end of the day we ended up going with The Hollands up to lockwood valley to see if any of the trails were open. Unfortunately they weren't. I aired up at the pavement and headed home. My guess is that it was low 20s in lockwood valley while I was airing up. :beermug:

Zak and I have an issue of if he can do it I had better do it. :) insulting manhood always ends with laughter and broken parts... Usually lol, I had a great time and I'm thinkin with enough encouragement and insults I can tackle the rubicon :) I'll just need to fill my hatch with spare parts that's all lol

Mikey and I compete.....I'm not sure if its fair though, because every time we go on a run, I have a different rig....Next time I'll bring the Sami and do some of the tougher obstacles. Until then, I'm going to take the bumper off the 4Runner and trim the fenders and remove the inner fenderwells. I would love to put 35's on it without lifting it any further. I'm not afraid of the sawzall.....but if anyone has suggestions that are Toyota specific, please share. This is my first yota.

Zak

P.S. If mikey bought a yota, he wouldn't have to worry about broken parts........lol
