i just checked my confirmation they mailed me. I picked Sat, Pilot Rock and Sunday Dishpan. But we got Sat. Dishpan Springs 1, Sunday John Bull. What did you end up getting Bert? We've already been on John Bull so if you have something different than us and want to switch we will switch flags on Sunday. The color of your flag determines the run you are on. John Bull is a VERY HARD trail, lots of bolder climbs. But very fun. We would just like to do something new. We are flying back from Santa Fe on Thursday so we would like to drive up with you on Friday. We are taking both the truck with trailer and the jeep.

Do you want to switch???? If not we can see what we can do when we get there. Maybe we will just get in the wrong line and go with you on Pilot Rock

Well we've never been to any of the trails up there, so we will keep it. I guess you'll have to get in the wrong line.

And I sent email and the Sunday run to Dishpan Springs in on.

Hey Bert, what time are you leaving Friday. We usually drive over to Barstow and head across the desert and up the back side. It is quite a big hill and very whindey. John thinks we should go the other way since we are pulling trailers even though there will be more traffic. That is 58 to 395 to 15 toward san bernardino, 215 to 210 to 330 and up the hill. The ski resort is on that side of Big Bear. Let me know what you think.

Bert, the 330 is going to kill you! I have started taking the 18 into to big bear and it saves a 1/2 or so to boot. I am going to be leaving along with my father in law about 1:00 as well. See you there.

Luke, so the 18 is a better pull up the mountain? By just looking at the map it looks like the 330 cuts of miles to the Snow Valley Rec. Area. More info please. :D

Bert, no I was WRONG. In speaking with Mike at iiew, the staging area and camp ground in is Running Springs which is on the westside of Big Bear. The 330 is a really windy grade that seems to take for ever versus the 18. In the past, we have wheeled the big bear area then went down the 18 towarsd Johnson Valley. Bottom line, stick with the route you have. See you tomorrow.

I won't have access to e-mail so I'll call Bert Friday morning to hook up with you guys. If things change, call me on my cell 661-319-5778. Otherwise I'll see you around 1pm on Friday. Or leave me a message on my cell telling me where we should meet. Marcy

Ok, here are some ideas for meeting up.

1- Meet up at the Walmart/Lowes Panamal Ln. and Hwy 99.
2-Laval Rd and I-5 at the Motel parking lot north of the motel west side of I-5
3-Labec rest stop

Any other ideas?

The trail was like freeway ridge, but twice as easy. Only went on one run and it was pretty easy, no carnage, damage or anything, sorry.

I ran John Bull on Friday night, great trail amd the night made it even better. We ran Dishpan Springs, pretty easy despite the Most difficult rating. We went back and ran it after th run and had a couple roll overs on a waterfall. John Bull is a great trail, a lot of fun. I will be heading back down this summer to run Mitino Wash and a few others. We are heading up to the Rubicon this weekend if anybody in interested. I know Larry is going on my July Trip and I thin kI have recruited John as well. Unfortunately I did not take any pics.
