Fuel Cell question

Postby Frylock » May 23rd, 2012, 6:29 pm

looking at getting an aluminum 20 gal fuel cell for the jeepster. Noticed that a lot of them come filled with foam and read its good for offroading to prevent slashing. Is it worth getting the foam??

heres the tank Im looking at that has foam and a fuel sending level unit, but then Ive read these sending units dont work if the tank is filled with foam....So why does it say it comes with it. Very confused..... :banghead:

foam is good/bad, it prevents excessive slosh in unbaffled tanks and keeps fuel near fuel pickup. the bad, foam(most) deteriorates over time and finds its way into your fuel system.

options, no foam and run 2-4 walbro pickups, no foam and run platic wiffleballs(ask zukizzy on pirate)

oh and ya most senders wont work unless you buy the vertical senders and have a hole cut in foam just for the sender.

basically if you have questions on fuel cell tech or fuel systems search Zukizzy on pirate's post, the guy is a fuel system genius when it comes to tanks/systems.
