AW4 is the automatic jeep trans, and ax15 is the standard. If you've got a pretty decent shop full of tools you could rebuild it, but i'm not gonna say it's easy. You wanna have a full day to devote to it so you can rebuild it all in one sitting, and keep track of every single little part. Normal rebuild kits will come with syncros, bearings and seals. Just replace everything the kit gives you that way there's not a problem with something else on down the road. Not something to cut corners on.
