the "HANGOVER" run report

If you went on a run this is where to brag about it!

the "HANGOVER" run report

Postby Uncle Cracker » July 2nd, 2012, 7:48 am

aron, alex, josh, me, zak & katie, pat (shocker motor sports) and pat's brother john showed up
for the hangover run.
we were all supposed to meet at 8:30 @ the usual location.
i showed up about 8:45, aron was already there,
zak showed up just a few minutes later. the rest of the group showed up over the next hour and a half  it's the "hangover run" what did you expect :thefinger:
@ the trail head: we all aired down while aron
installed his front drive line-----no issues up to poser rock, where we took about an hour break. one or two rigs struggled at the first obstacle after the break. we continued on without incident for awhile. over the radio, i hear someone is hung up behind me, don't know any other details. in front of me, john
is hung up on both diffs in a rut. a quick tug on the strap, and he's on his way. a few minutes later, john rubs most of his passenger side down a rock about door handle high. minimal damage. we stopped several times just to BS awhile and enjoy the perfect temperatures. john's hood was up a couple of times looking for an electrical gremlin, which seem to fix it's self after a short time :dontknow:

at the top of "piston hill",, after posing for pics, I find I have broken both of my motor mounts and the motor has dropped a couple of inches, and the mechanical fan is now rubbing on the lower rad hose, and tranny lines.
everybody grabbed tools &"stuff". I pulled the fan off, we used the "high lift" as a lever , pried the passenger side up and tie wired john's pipe wrench under the mount.
pried up the driver side and tie wired josh's
door latch under that mount, then used a ratchet strap to hold the motor down, and off we went. a big thanks to everyone for helping out. i drove the 4runner to work this morning with my "bitchen" new motor mounts,,, all is good,,,, i think i'll leave it like that :lol2:

What is with motor mounts lately? Ive never heard so much about broken motor mounts until this last 4 months. Sounds like a good trip and a door handle scores a 10 on my creative repair scale.

yep, you suck :thefinger:

you're the one that kinda got the whole
"hangover" run started.

 first you whined about never going
to freeway ridge, then crazy sammy jumped in
and said he'd take you up there. then people started jumping on the band wagon. :dig:
i kinda figured a few folks would be no-shows,
that's natural. and i guess MFDD couldn't find dark enough sun glasses to leave the house  you missed a bunch of fun at DD's, and
your opportunity to run that extremely technical trail, they call "FREEWAY RIDGE" :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3: :lol3:
