A lot of people making assumptions on pirate, as usual.
Cadillac Hill is very dangerous, bottom line. Many people have died there over the years. Alcohol issue aside, you have 300 newbies in under-built Jeeps struggling for every inch on shear drop-offs; people are gonna get hurt. Shit, Abendx and myself have had "ohh-shit" moments on Cadillac Hill. The Jambo needs to make money to pay their enormous cost (insurance alone), so they will keep it as low profile as possible as to not taint the event. The same thing happens at sporting events and amusement parks every day.
A lot of people hate the Jambo, but fail to realize that much of the legal revenue to fight the antis over trail access comes from this event (the Jeepers Jamboree is a 501C(3)). So even though I don't like running it, I'm glad its there.
I think people are being idiots for blaming the event: There is absolutely no evidence that this driver was drunk. But even if there was, if some knucklehead wants to kill himself by driving stinking-drunk, that is not the event's fault, it is the idiot individuals fault. People are always looking to blame everyone and everything but the idiot responsible. A deeper issue with not only the off-road community, but modern society in general.
I AM THE TITTY MASTER
