LABOR DAY 2012

If you are thinking about doing a run and just want to put it out there, this is the place to do it.

LABOR DAY 2012

Postby abendx » August 2nd, 2012, 3:09 pm

Let's go wheeling and camping over the long Labor Day weekend. JKADDICTION brought this up as a possible thing to do if Matt and I can't make the Con trip, which is a great idea... but let's do it, even if the Con trip holds.

Thinking one of the following, but am open to all suggestions.

Big Bear trail system
Santa Barbara (behind the hill)
Swamp Lake
Strawberry Lake
Monache Meadows
OR ?????

I think it might be too early (read: HOT) to do a desert trip.

Put me and Becca as a maybe, even if we make/don't make the 'Con we will be a maybe, the jeep has been in garage too long, need to test its new limits and have some good times.

Okay... thanks. I think that rules that out as a possible.

So good.... we have a few takers. Still deciding the location, but this should work nicely.

I'd be in, was planning to go somewhere Labor Day weekend. Now we're going to go to family camp with the kids.

Monache Meadow is a good place for a Labor Day weekend trip. You'd probably want to get someone up there on Fri to get a good camp spot. Also, it's kind of spread out so you'd have to find each other if people came in at different times.

Red Lake would be a good choice. Nice lake, plenty of camping, has an outhouse. If you get there Friday evening you could just drive in and set up camp in the dark, which is what we usually do, since the trail isn't that long. Sat or Sun you could drive in to Coyote Lake for lunch, which is a good trail.
