This is where to post runs that are going to happen!

I think I had a wet dream, dreaming of a wet dream. Damn.... I need a drink!

Okay.... Fordyce is on. Tickets have been purchased. And navigation plans are starting to come together.

I will see how the heep looks and I feel afterwards... I can't promise I'll make the Con so quickly afterwards.

Sorry guys, but I've done the Con several times (even once this season already). I have never been to Fordyce.

Im still down for Rubicon but from what Im reading between the accident and the possibility of no trail leaders ( or at it will be last minute before we will know ).Plus Cadillac hill maybe closed down it seems like a bad time to go. I have a family member flying in to wheel so no matter what Im going to hit up some fishing and trails and the shaver lake area seems to have alot too offer.

then I'd have to say I really don't think will get done with Matt's jeep in time and since there's no one stepping up to lead I guess this run will be cancelled ... if you guys are doing swamp lake ... someone will have to lead and open up a topic on the run ...:)

Been talking to Richard all week and suggests Swamp Lake is better but the con is a must once in your life. I'm down for what ever, just don't want to go alone.

Im going up, Ive been wanting to check this area out. I like the idea of only driving a few hours plus good fishing and camping. I have not done any of the trails in the shaver lake area . Anyone here that wants to go that has been? I still would like to head up on Thursday..

I MIGHT be able to lead a swamp lake run, But I only have Sat & Sun off.

We would have to leave Bako early on the 18th (about 5am) and be setting up camp at around lunch time. Then, head out on Sunday morning and hopefully get back to Bako before dark.

This will kind of suck because you will only get half a day to enjoy the lake and area. But, its better than sitting around watching TV. If you guys want to run up there on your own earlier, I can probably just meet you in camp at Grouse Lake on the 18th. Trail-navigating on the first half of the trail (southern half) is pretty easy (as long as you walk rooster rock and pick your line before driving), so you guys will find it pretty easy and I can give you GPS waypoints. So honestly, you guys can handle that trail without me as long as you follow GPS on your way out (the north half has lots of forks)

Also, I have additional constraints: I ABSOLUTELY have to be back in Bako at a decent time on Sunday. I have a major business related trial to attend in San Bernardino on Monday morning. So if your rig goes tits up (or mine breaks down), I can't go to the wee hours of the night trying to get off the trail. On the trip two weeks ago, there was MAJOR carnage causing most of the group to get home early in the morning the next day and a vehicle to be abandoned. I know, its better NOT to go with those kind of restraints - so that will weigh in my decision on whether or not I think it is wise to go.

What day did you plan on running in? Thursday or friday would be good so you can save the campsites at Grouse Lake for people running in saturday morning. Go ahead and start a new thread and i will post waypoints and directions
