Sierra Trek 2012 // FORDYCE

Postby abendx » August 3rd, 2012, 5:20 am

I am going to be hitting Fordyce for the Sierra Trek this year. I'll be going up with my neighbor Eric, and I bet that fucker will try to put me to work selling his shit..... please, IOR!!! someone come with us so I can run off and play four wheeler and not dirty salesman. ha.... it's not like that, but really, I want some IOR representation out there!!! We have one rig.... let's do ten instead!

The dates of the event are 8/9 - 8/12. I haven't yet figured out the details of getting there, but we have to stop in Placerville to pick up some tee shirts on Thursday and we plan on hitting the trail early Friday morning. We will likely exit and head home on Sunday.

The run ain't cheap... and I am not so sure how I feel about paying to wheel on public land... but they will feed me and show me where to go... so I'll take one for the team. Next time, I'll be leading an IOR run up there!! :Thumb:

Thanks for supporting the cause, we need the money to fight the greenies. You'll have a good time, plenty of nice people to visit with while you're waiting in line. You could have waited for me to show you Fordyce, but since that's not likely to happen you made the right decision. :thefinger:

Why wouldn't you show me Fordyce Richard? Is it because you know I know you are a DILF? I hope you won't hold your sexiness against me!

Fordyce is a really cool trail. Unfortunately I haven't been able to take the time to run it the last couple of years. It will be good for you to run it to get the lay of the land, so you can lead a trip up there. You're going to end up wanting to run Swamp and Fordyce, and the 'Con will be less frequent. I must run Fordyce next year, and I'll finally have the time to do it. But, I'll end up running it with my retired guy friends, and they want to run it and not camp on the trail. The idea is to camp at the RV park at the next exit after the exit for the trail head and stay in the RV's each night. There is now a trail from the RV park to the trail head, so we'd run the bottom half and come out at the committee crossing and go back to the RV's, then the next day go back to the committee crossing and run up to Meadow Lake and then back to the committee crossing. You're welcome to join us, could be a lot of DILF's.

Our normal way of running Fordyce is to leave early and drive up and park the tow rigs at the RV park, then drive back to the trail head and wheel past the first or second water crossing and set up camp. The next day we run the rest of the trail to Meadow Lake, then turn around and run back to camp. The next day we run back to the trail head and load up and drive home. That way we run the trail in both directions and avoid the long ass drive back around to the tow rigs through Truckee, and we only set up camp once.

Damn, I'm running Fordyce for sure next year, one way or another.

That sounds like I might have to sign up..... do I need to have a bunch of kids and look sexy to join the DILF group, or will I be regulated to cougar patrol?

I am kind of digging having a base camp and my truck and trailer being the center of that.... I can bring the kitchen sink and lean out my rig for running. WAY BETTER!!

So..... the DILF leads Fordyce next year!! :wings:

Richard.... is the RV park called Cisco Grove by any chance?

I am going to call them to see if I can leave my trailer there.
