We had: Abendx, SASyoda, Fryloco, Frances and Jeep Deere (in franny's new JK), MFDD, Bigfoot, Crazy Sammy, Floppy Aaron, and Alex from 4Wheel Parts. So the "big 3" of trail rigs (Jeep, Toyota, and sami) were well represented.
As usual on this run, rigs varied from moderate to extreme and there was something to challenge everyone. We didn't actually start wheeling till about 10:00 and were back at the pavement at about 3:30. The great thing about playing in the wash is that various builds can push their rigs to the limit without holding up the group or splitting the group up. And the scenery is awesome, like an old western movie. Wheeling is usually better because there is quite a bit of water running through, but no water on this run.
We were playing around on one obstacle, and Crazy Sammy's rear passenger-side wheel came completely off the rig; He sheared off all 6 wheel studs! I wont get into the back-story as to why I had Toyota wheel studs in my parts box, but I did, and Josh's axle just happened to be a Toyota axle, so we got him fixed and going again in under an hour. On a side note, whoever brought that cordless impact was awesome, I will definitely be buying one of those in the future.
Thanks for setting the run up Brad
Lots of pics and vid to follow.....
