Bakersfield Veterans Day Parade 2012

It's that time of year again to honor the men and women that have served in our armed forces!

I don't have all the details yet, but I wanted to put this out there so everybody can start planning.

Date: November 12, 2012
Time: No later than 9am. Show up as early as you can as it will be crowded this year.
Meeting Place: Chester and 22nd, In the bank parking lot, same as last year.

Theme: Greatest Generation

I am excited because my grandfather is being honored this year and will be riding in the lead car of the parade! For those of you that don't know he is one of the few Pearl Harbor Survivors left alive.

Woo Hoo, probably my most favorite event IOR participates in, you know I will be participating.
I really think we should step it up this year with the theme, anyone have any ideas?
Greatest generation ever must be talking Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom?

Cool looks like Veterans Day is on a Sunday, might actually be able to make it to the parade for the first time. My grandfather shipped out of Pearl and was on Christmas Island when the attack came. Skipped all over the Pacific after that.

Some of you were wondering what the theme ment for the parade, well i got some info today, the theme is actually "Honoring Our Greatest Generation", it looks like WWII should be our theme.
