If you are doing building on your rig might as well take some pictures and help teach other members how to do it!

Started on the Sliders today!! I can't weld very good and dad has done it all his life so i leave that part to him. They were actually pretty simple to build. I believe it's 3"x5" 1/4" thick angle iron, 5/8" thick by 3" wide flat strap for the braces, 1/8" thick diamond plate for the top. I used 1" round, schedule 40 pipe. Thanks to AJ for letting me use his pipe bender. It worked great!!!

The angle iron is 47" long and the pipe is 48" long to compensate for the loss of length due to bending. I put the angle iron up against the body with a floor jack to hold it into place while I marked and drilled holes for mounting. Here is everything cut, drilled and bent.

Dad welding it up for me.

On the front on each side you'll have to notch out about a 1/2" section to go around the body underneath.

Here they are both welded up.

Next I added some braces. I used 3" wide by 5/8" thick flat strap. I used this cause I bought a 4' long piece to use for my recovery points for my bumpers when I go to build those. I had it so why not use it.

Just tack welded into place

Not a great pic but here are the 2 braces in place.

Next I just measured the length and width of the top which for me was 2 3/4" wide by 42" long and added Diamond plate on top.

Here they are. Painted and mounted with 1" long by 1/2" grade 8 bolts. Everyone has black so I did mine white. All together I think I have about $60-70 if that in steel and a couple hours labor.
